About the programme

This programme is designed to enhance your academic language skills, with a strong focus on critical thinking and academic writing. You’ll also benefit from additional classroom support provided by our experienced and qualified teachers.

At the International Study Centre, you’ll have access to Liverpool Hope’s fully equipped library and a wide range of online resources. These will give you a fully immersive on-campus study experience.

As part of the programme, you will study a combination of core modules and specialist modules tailored to the academic stream you choose.

Key facts

Minimum English language level:

Academic IELTS 5.5 overall (with no component below 5.5) or equivalent.

Academic entry requirements:

Completion of 3 x A Levels (or equivalent) or to have completed a recognised foundation programme or first year of an overseas degree with good grades (or equivalent).

Each application will be considered individually and assessed on their ability to succeed on the International Year One.

Minimum age requirement:

Students under 18 will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Upon successful completion of the International Year One programme, you may progress to one of the following degrees:
 
  • A degree in Computer Science can lead to careers in software engineering, systems development, cybersecurity, and robotics.
  • Graduates have gone on to roles at Airbus, Barclays, Oracle, Microsoft and other leading companies.
  • Access to modern technology including virtual reality, drones, 3D printing and robotics.
